Disruption to network connection in Fferm Penglais Block 2 Mar 17, 2026 10:00-11:00 GMT

Owing to essential power maintenance work, the network will be disrupted in Fferm Penglais Block 2 from approximately 10:00am for up to 1 hour. A temporary isolation of the electrical supply to the whole of Block 2 will be required to allow safe working and compliance with electrical regulations.

Identified - We have confirmed that the issue only affects users being added to or removed from automatically generated module and departmental mailing lists. This issue should only affect a very small number of users while we work to implement a solution.

Monitoring - A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.

Identified - Microsoft are experiencing a problem with mail delivery that is affecting sites world wide, including Aberystwyth University. Microsoft have acknowledged the problem and they are working on a fix.

It's not affecting many users (less than 50 mails so far), but it is happening.

We have implemented a local fix, but it has a high probability of breaking until Microsoft resolve the issue, so we are leaving the status as "Identified".
